Celebrating NATO PA’s legacy
Engaging stakeholders and public
Reinforcing democratic oversight
For its 70th anniversary, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) aimed to highlight its legacy and ongoing relevance, communicating seven decades of history and achievements to a diverse audience with a balance of gravitas and engaging storytelling.
NATO PA delivered a visually rich, multi-format campaign that honoured its history and projected its future, with a bespoke logo, interactive timeline, and videos that strengthened its public profile, stakeholder engagement, and resources for future outreach.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) is a transatlantic forum of 281 parliamentarians from NATO’s 32 member countries. Since 1955, it has upheld democracy, the rule of law and parliamentary oversight.
The NATO PA has enabled legislators to discuss and influence Alliance security, raise awareness of key Euro-Atlantic issues, and support national oversight. Since the Cold War’s end, it has also included parliamentarians from partner countries, strengthening transatlantic ties and advancing shared democratic values through parliamentary diplomacy.
For its 70th anniversary, NATO PA aimed to highlight its legacy and ongoing relevance, engaging stakeholders and the public through compelling, visually rich communications.
Cronos Europa was entrusted with the creative development and delivery of this campaign, working in close collaboration with the Assembly’s communications team.
The campaign addressed the challenge of presenting seven decades of achievements to a diverse audience, balancing institutional gravitas with modern storytelling. Central to the campaign were four complementary deliverables: a bespoke anniversary logo, a motion design video introducing NATO PA’s role, an interactive timeline showcasing key milestones, and a highlights video celebrating 70 years of impact. Each product contributed to a unified narrative reflecting the Assembly’s values, legacy, and future vision.
The creative process involved iterative collaboration between Cronos Europa and NATO PA, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and brand guidelines.
The anniversary logo combined modern typography with symbolic references to parliamentary cooperation and transatlantic unity. The motion design video featured a collaboratively crafted, informative, and accessible narrative introducing NATO PA’s role and contributions to democratic oversight. The interactive timeline used a custom HTML solution for multimedia integration while ensuring accessibility and responsiveness, allowing users to explore key events chronologically or by theme. The highlights video combined NATO PA’s archival footage with motion graphics and music to create a dynamic, emotionally engaging narrative. Collaboration was central to the campaign’s success.
The project benefited from multidisciplinary input across Cronos Europa’s Communication Studio, including designers, animators, developers, and strategic advisors. This integrated workflow allowed for seamless coordination and high-quality output across all deliverables, always under the leadership and oversight of NATO PA.
The campaign assets launched for NATO PA’s 70th anniversary, gaining strong visibility on the website, social media, and internal channels. The anniversary logo reinforced brand identity, the motion design video engaged new audiences, the interactive timeline became a valuable educational tool, and the highlights video celebrated the Assembly’s achievements. Together, these assets strengthened NATO PA’s public profile and provide lasting resources for future outreach.
While the campaign was designed to mark a specific milestone, its impact is expected to extend well beyond the anniversary. The assets created can be repurposed for future events, educational initiatives, and member engagement efforts.
The success of this collaboration has also laid the foundation for future projects between Cronos Europa and NATO PA. Both teams have expressed interest in continuing to work together on strategic communication initiatives that support the Assembly’s evolving role in transatlantic security and democratic dialogue.
