Aftermovie: Shaping the Future of Political Tech in Europe

Highlights from Shaping the Future of Political Tech in Europe event

On 9 December 2025, Cronos Europa hosted a highly successful event in the EU Quarter in Brussels titled Shaping the Future of PolTech in Europe, bringing together a full room of experts and professionals to explore how technology is transforming politics and democracy within the European Union.

I would love to inspire everyone to think critically about the technologies we use, from the moment we wake up until we go to sleep.
Maria Koomen – GovernanceProgram Director (CFG)

The event sparked inspiring discussions on the intersection of democracy and innovation, focusing on topics ranging from cutting-edge technological advancements to the regulatory challenges they present. Panelists and attendees alike engaged deeply on how technology impacts democracy and the pressing need for international coordination.

We were honoured to welcome:

MariaKoomen – Centre for Future Generations (CFG)
Jeremy Rollison – Microsoft
Elinor Wahal – European Commission's AI Office
Filip Grzegorzewski – European External Action Service

The panel was enriched by academic insights from Alvaro Oleart of Université libre de Bruxelles & Protagoras, with Tom Moylan from Moylan Communications expertly moderating the discussion.

A special thanks goes to Microsoft for hosting this event and to Josef Lentsch from Partisan for the dedication in bringing it to life.

This event helped pave the way for the Political TechSummit held later in Berlin, marking a key step forward in championing political tech innovation across Europe.

Watch the aftermovie below to revisit the day's highlights and energy.
